Artis’s wife, Faith Artis, who has been a familiar face in the audience throughout the season alongside their two sons, posted an emotional message shortly after the episode aired. On his Instagram, she commented:

“Love you SO MUCH honey ❤️ you left it all out on that stage and I couldn’t be more proud 😭 I think you deserved to be in that finale, but top 5 is HUGE. The boys and I are forever grateful for your hard work! We love you so much baby 😘”

Despite his elimination, Thunderstorm Artis will return for the Season 23 finale on May 18, where he will perform alongside the Top 14 and celebrity guests. He has also announced new shows, including a June 20 concert in Bend, Oregon, and an appearance at the North Carolina Folk Festival in September.
